Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Limited is a sugar company that was founded in 1961 and is one of the first sugar factories in Tamil Nadu. The company has two sugar units, one in Kattur and another in Sathamangalam, that can crush 6,400 tons of cane per day. The company also has a distillery with a capacity of 60 kiloliters per day, and can generate 33 megawatts (MW) of power. Kothari Sugars also produces industrial alcohol from molasses, bio-compost from distillery effluents and press mud, and premium quality ENA, ethanol, and rectified spirit.
Kothari Sugars operates in India and Asia, and caters to both domestic and international markets. In 2021, the company crushed 770,823 tons of cane and produced 711,130 quintals of sugar, while in 2020 it crushed 668,906 tons and produced 615,620 quintals.
Kothari Sugars is the parent organization of Parvathi Trading & Finance Co., Pvt, Ltd.. Its subsidiaries are Kothari International Trading Limited and Kothari Biotech Limited.
