Nava Limited (formerly Nava Bharat Ventures Limited) is a diversified multinational company with a significant presence in India, Southeast Asia, and Africa. They operate across various sectors, including metals manufacturing, power generation, mining, agribusiness, and healthcare.
Key Business Segments:
Ferro Alloys: Nava is an India-based ferro-alloy producer. They manufacture and sell various alloy metals like ferro chrome, silico manganese, and ferro silicon. They have ferro alloy plants in Paloncha, Telangana and Kharagprasad, Odisha. They supply manganese alloys to global markets, including India, the Middle-East, South-East Asia, and Europe.
Power Generation: Nava operates thermal power plants in India (Telangana, Odisha, and AP) with a total installed capacity of 434 MW. They also manage Zambia’s integrated thermal power plant of 300 MW and have plans to expand it. They generate power from various sources, including coal, biomass, biogas, and bagasse.
Mining: Nava is engaged in mining activities. Their subsidiary, Maamba Collieries Ltd (now Maamba Energy Limited), is Zambia’s largest coal mine concessionaire and operates a coal mine to power plant.
Agribusiness: Nava has ventured into agribusiness, with initiatives like the world’s largest avocado plantation and sugarcane plantation in Zambia.
Healthcare: Nava has made expansions into the healthcare sector, including operating a medical clinic in Singapore and in-licensing pharmaceutical products.
Historical Highlights:
Established in 1972 as an Indian ferro alloys manufacturer.
Expanded its global footprint through subsidiaries and ventures in Africa and Southeast Asia.
The company was formerly known as Nava Bharat Ventures Limited and changed its name to Nava Limited in July 2022.
Achieved its highest-ever FY25 results, demonstrating strong revenue and profit growth.
