Godawari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL) is a public limited company that manufactures steel products and mines iron ore. GPIL is a backward integrated steel company that has operations across the steel value chain, including iron ore mines, manufacturing, and selling of iron ore pellets, and value-added steel products. GPIL also generates electricity.
Godawari Power and Ispat Limited was incorporated in 1999 and is a pioneer constituent of the HIRA Group of Industries in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. GPIL has two captive mines, Ari Dongri Mine and Boria Tibu Mine, and sources 85% of its iron ore needs from these mines for steel production. Godawari Power and Ispat Limited also has rights to mine iron ore and coal for captive consumption. GPIL manufactures sponge iron, billets, ferro alloys, captive power, wires rods, steel wires, oxygen gas, fly ash brick, and pallets.
